Lascelles Unit

Rowan Rehabilitation Unit is a 12 bedded ward. These beds are used both for rehabilitation and for short-term review.

We accept referrals from acute wards and GPs. The patients that we receive and treat on this unit may have a variety of neurological conditions such as head injuries, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s, motor neurone disease and Guillain–Barré syndrome. We also see patients who have suffered strokes.

Rowan is a patient-centred environment with nursing and therapy staff providing a high standard of care. This enables a smooth transition into community and home life with support where necessary.

The Lascelles Rehabilitation Unit is in the Briary Wing at Harrogate District Hospital.

We are a dedicated team, including stroke nurses who provide acute assessment of patients with stroke symptoms in the Emergency Department, 24 hours a day. This service enables us to provide thrombolysis, if appropriate, for certain types of stroke.

We have a dedicated team of doctors and work closely with other members of our multi-disciplinary team to provide high standards of patient care.
