Patients Know Best
Our new patient portal Patients Know Best (PKB) gives you convenient access to most outpatient appointments as well as giving you the option to request to reschedule or cancel an appointment.
Emails from [email protected], or a text from HDFT NHS, are being sent to Harrogate District Hospital outpatients in the week commencing October 21 2024, inviting patients to register for this service.
Regardless of whether or not you received an invitation you can Register for Patients Know Best and select the NHS login option.
The Benefits of Registering for Patients Know Best
Our patient portal, Patients Know Best, is a convenient way to access and store your outpatient appointments and keep them to hand on a device, such as a mobile phone, tablet laptop or PC.
- Outpatient appointment notifications are received shortly after the appointment has been made – cutting out the waiting from when a letter is sent through the post to it being received.
- Your appointment is stored on your mobile phone, so it is easily accessible when you get to hospital – no more hunting for your appointment letter just before you leave.
- You can request to change an appointment online – so you don’t need to call our switchboard.
- You can request to cancel an appointment that you no longer need – reducing the number of missed appointments, ensuring the time can be used to help other patients and increase clinical efficiency.
- Patients can share their account with a trusted family member or friend – helping those who rely on others for transport or support during an appointment. (Please be aware that this is not a suitable option if privacy is an issue, as the person who has been given access to the account will be able to see all current and future appointments).
- Using the service, reduces the Trust’s paper usage and saves us money by lowering our postage and administrative costs. This helps us to Go Green and save money, which can be reinvested in the Trust.
