Thirteen staff from Otley based Lead-Tech, Intelligent Customer Acquisition, are taking on the Yorkshire Warrior Challenge at Rudding Park on Saturday 30 April 2016. The Lead-Tech Warriors, all staff from across the business, are aiming to raise £1,500 for three local charities chosen by their charity committee.
Ray Drake, Qualification and Insight Team Manager and Charity Committee Member, put forward Harrogate Hospital and Community Charity, to support Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust’s Special Care Baby Unit. Ray’s son, Austin, was born prematurely in August 2011, and spent 4 weeks on the unit so Ray wanted to show his appreciation for the care Austin was given during at the start of his life.
Ray explains that ‘we met some amazing people at the Special Care Baby Unit, from the nurses right through to the other parents with children on the ward. I want to give something back so that other babies who need support in the future will be able to continue to receive the best possible care and have the best facilities available to them.’
The team will be wading through mud, scaling hay bales, jumping over fire and more as they take on the five mile obstacle course through the Rudding Estate.
The Yorkshire Warrior challenge will be the first fundraising activity in the teams bid to raise their total, with more events being planned throughout the year. The other charities that Lead-Tech is supporting are Candlelighters, and Bumble Bees Barbarians, Bradford.
