Getting here

Harrogate District Hospital is a 15 minute walk from Harrogate town centre, and is easily accessible by car and by bus. (For Ripon Community Hospital click here)

The Trust is actively working on initiatives to encourage patients, staff and visitors to consider safe and sustainable alternatives to car travel through its Active Travel Plan. Trust staff have access to a Liftshare website which matches those driving to work with those needing a lift.  By reducing single occupancy car travel, the Plan aims to improve health and wellbeing, free up car parking space and make a positive contribution to the community and the environment.

Our Hospital and its Emergency Department are open 24/7, 365 days a year. However, set visiting times are in place on most of our wards. Check the visiting times to avoid making a wasted journey.

Car

Harrogate is easily accessible from the A1, and the Hospital is well signposted once you enter Harrogate. Please use our postcode, HG2 7SX, when using a SatNav to get here.

For those people dropping off friends and relatives at the Hospital, we have an allocated drop-off bay outside the main entrance. We have a car park for those planning on a longer stay, but spaces are limited and so we ask patients and visitors to consider other travel options where possible.
