I qualified in Leeds, and completed training in Yorkshire after a short spell in Liverpool. I work in the Histopathology Department, delivering a diagnostic service and leading on urological cancer services. This is largely ‘behind the scenes’ work, but crucial to the Trust’s commitment to provide the highest quality cancer care. We also provide a vital community service in assisting with investigation of sudden and unexpected deaths.
I am Staff Governor representing medical practitioners and it is a privilege to sit on the Trust Council of Governors. I am also the Head of School of Pathology for the Yorkshire & Humber region, overseeing the training of doctors in a range of scientific disciplines. Precious spare time is spent on my bicycle, on the allotment or cringing at the performance of Newcastle United.
