Emily Legge

Emily Legge

Emily is the Chief Pharmacy Technician at Harrogate and District NHS Foundation Trust (HDFT).  She is an advocate for “giving back” to the Trust by making a positive contribution and playing an active role in developing quality services for patients, enhancing staff working lives and representing staff views.

Her career has involved working mainly in acute hospital pharmacies but she has also previously been a Communications Director for the Association of Pharmacy Technicians UK.   Having a strong belief in continuous professional development has enabled Emily to complete a Clinical Leadership Fellowship with NHS England and become a Chartered Manager and Coach. These opportunities bring many emotional intelligence skills and the ability to listen with inquisitiveness which is an important attribute for governors.

In her day-to-day role, Emily is used to dealing with complex issues.  This enables her to view the challenges and opportunities the Trust faces with objectivity and creativity. Underpinning this is a passion for fairness and equality and ensuring voices and opinions are heard, meaning she can truly represent members’ interests.  As demonstrated by her own professional development, she recognises the importance of investing in staff both professionally and personally and has witnessed how this can have a measurable impact on teams and individuals.
